My friend in question, Steve and his son Luke, planned to pick me up about 7 hours into my walk (coming from Sydney) and ferry us that arvo back to another night in Wellington.
Plan worked beautifully and we lunched at the only Pub (or anything) at Stuart Town and met some fun South Africans touring NSW.
